There are many ways to get involved with the White Clay Creek Wild & Scenic River Program! Here are a few current opportunities:
**As part of the Plant 1 Million campaign in the Delaware (http://www.pennsylvaniahorticulturalsociety.org/plant-one-million/index.html):
The Delaware Society for the Preservation of Antiquities, White Clay Wild and Scenic with the generous support from the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary is planning to plant a riparian buffer of trees and shrubs on November 5th, 2011 at 10am. Please bring a shovel and gloves and be prepared to get dirty! Drinks and snacks will be provided. This riparian buffer of native trees and shrubs will protect the tidal portion of the White Clay Creek on the historic banks of the Hale Byrnes House http://halebyrnes.org/.

White Clay Creek Reforestation Plan
Currently, efforts are being made to reforest the White Clay Creek watershed to improve the quality of the water and land within the watershed.

On Saturday, March 6, 2010, 42 residents and officials, primarily from London Grove and Franklin Townships attended the workshop "Reforesting the Watershed, One Township at a Time". Attendees became familiar with the White Clay Creek Reforestation Plan and to the current tree planting projects envisioned for their community and how they could become involved. A record number of volunteers helped at the Goodwin Preserve Reforestation tree planting on March 20, 2010. Your volunteer efforts will make for a greener community and help restore a portion of the Middle Branch of the White Clay Creek they met the goal of planting 2,450 trees on either side of Middle Branch. Apply stamps and mailing labels to postcards and letters; fold letters and stuff envelopes.Please contact the River Administrator if interested in volunteering to help with mailings.
